our stay at residence bergère was wonderful, we booked the lovely two bedroom apartment which was clean and comfortable, in a lively and central location. we'd especially like to thank jose for being so kind and welcoming! he was very helpful and the apartment overall felt like a hidden gem, so beautiful. we'd love to return in the future

We stayed in a two bedroom apartment. The place was as advertised - it wasn't 'luxurious' but it was clean, comfortable, safe and functional. The location was exceptional - so many restaurants in close walking distance. One downside - there is no elevator, and we were on the 4th floor. That was a bit painful with luggage. We would stay again.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough, we arrived early in the hopes that we might just be able to drop off our suitcase and return later in the day and were met by Jose, who checked our apartment and told us it was already cleaned so we could get in straight away. He was incredibly professional and showed us the features of the apartment and was at pains to point out that anything we needed we could get in touch with him at any time. The apartment was on the first floor facing the courtyard so it was very peaceful at night. The place was spacious and spotless, the beds were comfy (including the sofa bed. It was fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine and gave us so much more freedom than staying in a hotel, every morning I got up and picked up fresh croissants and bread for our breakfast at a fraction of the cost for eating the sam thing in a cafe with my family. The location was so much better than anywhere we've stayed before in Paris. Everything you could ever need was within a 3-minute walk of the hotel, including the metro, supermarkets, boulangeries and countless excellent restaurants which all served amazing food at incredibly reasonable prices, a far cry from staying right in the centre where you have mostly tourist trap restaurants that are expensive and the food is mostly mediocre. This is clearly an area where the locals eat. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my next trip to Paris, if anything due to my experience of staying here, I'll be visiting Paris a lot more.

I booked this place through Airbnb and had a very disappointing experience. The apartment is much smaller than in the photos, the furniture and bed are cheap and uncomfortable, and the TV remote was taped with white Scotch tape and didn’t even work. Despite being a clean and respectful guest, the hosts left me an unfair review without any reason. They come across as shady, revengeful, and discriminatory — not worth the price or the trouble LATER EDIT: After my review, the owner posted a false and defamatory reply. To clarify, a woman I didn’t know knocked on my door during a power outage and spoke to me for only a few seconds. Later, I spoke with a man over the phone who was rude and kept insisting that I leave my luggage with a stranger who didn’t speak English. That was the only interaction I had. Their claim is entirely false and clearly retaliatory. Looking now, I see they argue publicly with many guests in the comments, which says everything about their professionalism and the quality of their service.

In short: Very disappointing experience. The apartment was advertised with an elevator, but our unit on the 4th/5th floor had none. We were traveling with two small children, which made it impossible to stay. The “parking” was in another building, several levels underground with no elevator, extremely unsafe and even damaged our car. Inside, there was no air conditioning, the place was old, smelled bad, and far below expectations. Honestly, the positive reviews seem fake. Despite nonrefundable reservations we didn’t stay. Long explanation: Terrible experience and very misleading listing. The apartment was advertised as having an elevator, but our unit was on the 4th/5th floor with no elevator at all. We were traveling with two small children (1 and 8 years old), which made it impossible to stay. The listing also mentioned “parking,” but in reality the parking was in another building across the street, 4–5 floors underground, with no elevator. The access was extremely narrow and unsafe, and our car was actually damaged while exiting. None of this important information was disclosed. Inside, the apartment was very old, smelled bad, and had no air conditioning, making the stay even worse. Because of all these issues, we had no choice but to cancel the stay—even though we had already paid—and spend hours late at night finding a hotel instead. Honestly, this was one of the worst travel experiences we have had, and the overly positive reviews here seem fake and misleading. Travelers should avoid this property.
