Chambre 1 - SAINTE CATHERINE C, bordeaux

Honestly, I was worried because of the reviews I had read about this accommodation, but I have to say it exceeded my expectations. My room was extremely clean, there was hot water, warm lighting, and the location is a huge plus!!! it’s very central. I stayed there during the summer and there were not as many students as classes haven’t started yet… A few steps and you’re in the museum of arts, Quartier des Spectacles , the Palais des Congrès, the VIA RAIL station & much more! There’s a lot of restaurants in the area too. The breakfast is the same every day, and I feel sorry for the students who live here and have to eat the same thing, but for me, it was not bad at all. There was coffee, bread, eggs, oatmeal, etc., and the dining area was very spacious. When I arrived, the staff was kind of friendly, and the facilities are well-maintained and easy to use. I would definitely recommend staying here if you’re looking for a central place to sleep and have everything at a walking distance without spending too many bucks. Everything we wanted to do was within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay.

This was honestly one of the worst place I have ever stayed. I was here on a work trip and I was fully unable to rest after long days at conferences. The only place to sit, the sofa, is not comfortable and welcoming for rest. The bed mattress is hard, no cover on the duvet, the bed is so high, I felt like I needed to climb the bed to sleep. My quality of sleep was so poor because of the poor furniture and lack of comfort. There is not really a place to open your suitcase comfortably. There were no hangers, no hair dryer. Toilets look like public toilets. A/C was so bad, I felt so stuffed. The breakfast was absolutely horrible, the eggs were not eatable, we were told by receptionists that the complimentary breakfast is the best in town, but honestly it’s the worst. The worst part is that we saw bugs in the bathroom, there were stains on walls, hairs in the bathroom area. Honestly, put a couple of extra money and go somewhere else, or take an Airbnb, not worth your money at all.

I would not recommend staying at this property. My friend and I stayed here on June 3–4. We checked in before attending a concert and everything initially seemed fine. However, when we returned to the hotel around midnight, we discovered that the batteries in our room's electronic lock had died and we were completely locked out of our room. We waited approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes before we were able to access our room again. During that time, we were left sitting in the hallway with no access to our belongings. This was especially concerning because I wear contact lenses and had medication and personal items inside the room that I needed access to. I became increasingly uncomfortable while waiting. What was most disappointing was the lack of support provided during the situation. We were not offered another room, a temporary place to wait, or any other accommodation while maintenance was being called. We were simply left waiting in the hallway in the middle of the night. After contacting management afterward, I was only refunded the charge for a lost key and was told that no compensation would be provided for the significant disruption to our stay. The manager also said that we were only locked out for 20 minutes, despite the time stamped photographs I had to confirm that we were locked out from 12:12 am- 1:29 am, which I provided here. I understand that maintenance issues can happen, but how a hotel responds to those issues matters. Being locked out of a room for over an hour due to a hotel equipment failure, with no alternative accommodation offered, is not the level of service I expected. We called the support line provided and were told that they only dealt with American residences. Based on this experience, I would not stay here again.

The location was perfect, with an easy walk to downtown, Old Montreal, restaurants, and public transit, making it a great base for exploring the city. The service was excellent, and the property was always well staffed. A special thank you to Denise M, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay seamless. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. She was an absolute gem. The beds were comfortable, the facilities were spotless, and everything felt well maintained. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and budget-friendly place to stay in Montreal, I would absolutely recommend Campus1.

After an incredibly scary and unfortunate airbnb experience for our first time in Montreal, campus1 was able to book us their last room at the very last minute for an extremely fair price and saved us from the worst situation we could have been in. Upon arrival , the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, they gave us meal tickets which included free yummy hot breakfast every morning (buffet style in the mess hall), and made us feel safe at every point. There are multiple security check points that you need to use your key card to get into, including the main entrance of the building with dedicated security staff at the entrance 24/7. The rooms were clean , sound proof , and had a great view of a bit of the city! We had an apartment style dorm with two separate bedrooms with twin XL beds, dressers/wardrobes and a desk. The bed was a dorm bed but it was comfy enough to sleep, clean, and safe. Accommodations were extremely accessible to transit and tons of great cafes/restaurants within walking distance. Literally no complaints here at all and we will definitely look at staying again on our next trip.
